The Windermere neighborhood is located in Longcreek Plantation in the Columbia Northeast area.  Homes for sale in Winderemere are mostly built with ‘southern home’ architectural features.  In Windermere you will find wooded lots, screened porches, swimming pools and wrought iron fences.  The majority, if not all, of the homes built in Windermere are of masonry construction.  Stucco and brick homes are popular in this neighborhood, but you may also find wood-sided homes scattered sparsely across the neighborhood.  Although we don’t have a copy of the restrictive covenants that state a square footage minimum,  Homes for sale in Windermere usually fall in the 4000 square foot range and I’d be shocked it the minimum building requirement was below 3000 square feet.

This gated community is also interwoven through an 18-hole golf course.  Golf course homes create an ideal sense of privacy between back yards as a seemingly natural barrier.  There are also several water features in this Blythewood golf course community.  You can typically find waterfront properties and golf course properties for sale on our Columbia SC Real Estate website.

The Windermere development is filled with new home construction but the size of the neighborhood is not overwhelming.  It is one of, if not “the nicest” areas of Longcreek Plantation.  In other areas of Longcreek Plantation you can find different styles of quality homes with different sizes and construction.
